A simple technique to create better habits
These 5 things don’t have to be complicated or time-consuming, in fact the easier they are to perform, the more likely you will do them and stick to them. And because we know that the brain learns from experience and repetition, depending on what small habits you choose, you can begin to rewire your brain for the better.
This week, the five exercises I have chosen are:
1. Each morning, name 5 things I am grateful for 2. Read at least 10 pages of a book each day 3. Meditate for at least 10 minutes per day (I typically meditate for longer, but this will encourage me to do it more regularly) 4. Visualise my current goal for 3 minutes 5. Before bed, name 3 things that went well that day
I am operating with flexibility on this as well – after I have completed my 5 tasks, I am finding more and more small tasks that I can do (walk for at least 20 minutes, do a random act of kindness each day, etc.), but I am finding having a list to stick to very helpful. It is also quite rewarding to be able to tick the items off my list each day and know that I have (and am) accomplishing something. Try this technique and let me know what you think!
