Therapist and Conscious and Peaceful Parent Coach

My name is Gianna De Salvo and I am a Cognitive Therapist and Conscious and Peaceful Parent Coach. I am also the mother of a very strong-willed and sensitive daughter so we ride some quite high emotions like a roller-coaster in my home. I, like many parents, used to really struggle with overwhelm, stress and get triggered by my child. It used to feel like a battle of wills to get her to do even simple things like brush her teeth or eat her meals. The power struggles were so constant that there were days where I didn't enjoy being a parent so much, even thought I loved my child dearly.   


I have been working as a qualified Cognitive Therapist since 2007 so I have a lot of tools at my disposal, but even I didn't realise how being a parent could trigger so many feelings and beliefs in me that I didn't even know existed (or thought I'd cleared years ago)!


Through searching for answers (and reading every parenting book out there) I found the Conscious Parenting community, received my own coaching and discovered a whole new way to connect and communicate with my daughter (and husband) in ways I didn't think were possible. 

This is why I am now focussing my practice on helping parents with strong-willed, spirited and sensitive children (although I do still see clients without children for therapy sessions). I know what support these types of children need (which is often different from children who don't fall into the above categories). 

I passionately want to help change the world by teaching parents how to raise secure, emotionally intelligent, mindful and compassionate children in a way that doesn't diminish the spirit in them. The future is certainly in need of more people like that.  

I'm from Chicago originally but now live with my husband and my daughter in London and have been successfully working with clients one-to-one and in groups throughout the London area and internationally online. 


Unlike many in the coaching field, I am trained in counselling, cognitive therapy (using the latest in brain-science techniques), hypnotherapy, counselling, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and mindfulness. I am also the author of the book You Can Choose to be Joyful
